This week’s style post has me so excited for fall. (I know it’s only August but fall fashion talk is in full effect.) I’m pairing two of my favorite looks, on my gal-pal Jamie, to make one great outfit. Boyfriend jeans and blazers! Blazers are such a timeless investment for your wardrobe for numerous reasons. One in particular being that blazers make every body type look pulled together and all-around flattering. If there is one investment you can make for fall, make it a great blazer. It’s business, it’s casual, it’s dressed up, it’s dressed down. When you pick out the right blazer, it’s basically like a best friend who gives you nothing but compliments! Now that’s my type of friend.
*Style Tip: When purchasing a blazer, try it on and stand with one shoulder against the wall. Your shoulder should rest gently against your blazer and the wall with little or no room in between. If you’ve lots of space, the blazer isn’t the right fit for your upper body.
This one, from Zara’s Trafuluc collection, is great because of the fantastic pattern and feminine cut. It makes Jamie look “tailored”, with the slightly structured shoulder, yet casual with the added roll of the cuff. She can wear this look to a luncheon, out for a casual business meeting, or meet-up with friends after work.
(Blazer, Zara’s Trauluc Collection $89.00)
Why does it work so well? The look of the tailored blazer makes the outfit appear dressy, yet paired with the rolled boyfriend jean, structured tee and ankle strap heel, gives Jamie the appearance of a classic, casual look. The ankle strap starting a just where the jean ends? A perfect way to elongate the leg!
(Boyfriend Jeans: Nordstrom Joe’s Easy Vintage Reserve 1971 $98.98, similar here)
(Necklaces: diamond baubles, heart. Ring. Top: La Bonne Vie by Sol Angeles $58.00)
Thanks for being such a great model Mrs. Jamie!
