When I first met the Brazilian beauty Ana, of We Love Citrus, she was out to here (picture me holding my hand weeee far out from my belly and that’d be her) with a baby bump. She was brimming with energy and was she ever moving and shaking! I knew that lady was on to something. We met at a wonderful Creative Connection San Diego meet-up and it just so happened that my friend Jessica told me she needed some extra help at an Anthropologie event (can you say, wah? Of course I’ll help!!).

From that point forward, I was pretty much hooked on We Love Citrus. If you happen to be smitten on DIY packaging, all that good stuff like twine, ribbon, confetti, and all things fun and yummy when it comes to decor, then you’ll love you some citrus too! So where does the name We Love Citrus come from? From Ana’s love of citrus fruits and the fact that her brand and name represent a fresh and simple line of packaging, party, and craft supplies. A pretty good vision, I’d say!
These adorable floral paper straws!
Who does not need a pair of the cutest stork scissors you’ve ever seen?
Glitter twine? Yes, please!
Need to pack some cookies? Use these adorable Kraft Gift Boxes!
Ana, who used to have a brick & mortar gift and supply store, had the opportunity in 2011 to transfer her business completely online. This allowed her to a) spend more time with her darling young son (and baby Vida on the way), b) focus on building her family and c) have a more flexible schedule. Now, she is able to work from home and spend lots of time with her, now, two kiddos. And have you seen her new baby, Vida? What.a.doll!!
Ana’s favorite part about what she does is getting to work with some pretty, colorful products. Not to mention, meeting and partnering with a lot of super creative people. For her, every day is dynamic and different. With her business, Ana has been lucky enough to collaborate with some of her favorites, such as Anthropologie, West Elm, and even Bing! With this inspiring list of who’s-who, she dreams of collaborating with more awesome brands as her business grows. (Secret? There are a few in the works. Follow her blog and stay tuned!)
So where does this inspiration come from? Ana draws inspiration from everything around her; from the food that she eats, to the places she visits, to the people she meets. She feels like one lucky lady. And, if you do have the chance to meet her in person, let me tell you, she radiates energy and excitement for what she does. And if that doesn’t make you want to get to know her already, I don’t know what else will (besides her adorable company, amazing family…??).
Getting to know Ana: A P.S.
(I started this with my post about Kelli Murray and it has become one of my favorite parts of my features. I love their answers and it makes them seem like real people, which of course they are. But hopefully, if you’ll agree, you can relate to an answer or two.)
I love San Diego because: I can wear flip-flops all year round.
San Diego has great places to: Bike and eat.
Three adjectives to describe my style: My style constantly evolves. I love to mix colors and patterns. If I were to choose three adjectives to describe my current style, I would say: Eclectic, modern, and vintage.
Favorite places to eat/shop: The food scene in San Diego has evolved so much in the past few years and I love eating out, supporting the local businesses, and trying new foods. To name a few, I love Cafe Chloe for breakfast, Buona Forchetta for pizza, Tiger! Tiger! for sandwiches, and Cafe Calabria makes perfect cappuccinos. I haven’t tried Local Habit or Muzita Bistro yet but both are on my list!
