Every so often, I want to give you a closer glimpse into my life so that you can get to know the voice behind this blog a little better. This is a chance for me to open up to you, dear reader, and hopefully share my successes and struggles of a stylist with you. In the course of my life-changing decision to begin a new career, I have been finding myself thinking about the question, “what do I have to offer?” quiet a bit. No longer do I have the schedule that maintains a–go to work, work, go home— type of day. Filled with uncertainty, and at times, much busyness, it leaves room for a lot of contemplation. But leave there no mistaking, what I am embarking upon makes me very. happy. I had this exact conversation with my husband last night. As if I needed to hear myself say this not only in my head, but out loud, indeed.
I hope to answer this question, clear as day, to you. to me. to whomever may be reading my blog and is interested in knowing exactly what a stylist can offer.
What does a stylist do?
I source things for you, in this great big world of choices and limited hours
For many people, much of their lives revolve around driving, children, jobs, meetings, getting from point A to B and trying to fit 25 hours into a 24-hour day. And shopping? Trying to fit that in with all of the other things you’re doing? Overwhelm City. Does this sound familiar to you? A stylist helps you with all that. A stylist has a discerning eye and takes the time to look for items that may make your space, and you, look even more amazing. Need help finding a new place to eat, a new outfit, or help decorating for your next event? As a stylist, it’s my job to weed out all of the unnecessary minutia to give you a toned down version of all of the items you need for your closet, for your table, for an event, or for a room in your home. There are many people out there who don’t know where to start looking or when they do, turn to Pinterest, ETSY, or another go-to place for inspiring ideas. The point of me, a stylist, and this blog, is to be that go-to style place for you to look when you need inspiration and ideas. As for style, I have a whole page dedicated to shopping looks I find amazing! When I post a photo shoot on the blog, or style a table, or post a picture to Instagram, my thought behind it all is to give others inspiration where I see it. To make others think, “I can do that!” or “I’d love to hire Conni to help me with that!”
Who needs a stylist?
Anyone who attends an event, needs a second opinion, is indecisive, or needs boost of confidence
Have you found yourself staring into your closet on more mornings than you’d like to admit, finding yourself saying, “I have NOTHING TO WEAR!” A stylist helps to boost your confidence level by helping you identify items that make you look amazing because their color, fit, and style. A stylist helps you look into your closet and gives you the ability to pull things together in a variety of ways you never thought of before. As a stylist, it’s my job to help you look and feel your best. If you’ve ever read an invitation and wondered what the difference between beachy-chic and seaside casual is or haven’t the slightest idea why Capri pants are not flattering on most figures, then you can benefit from the help of a stylist.

Can I afford to hire a stylist?
If you buy Starbucks, eat out a couple of times a week, and have a job, YOU can afford to hire a stylist
Shorter answer. Yes. My job is to make you feel the best within your budget. That’s right. YOUR budget. We all have budgets and they’re all different. And based on what your needs are at the moment, that’s where we’ll start. Whether you want to re-structure your closet so that what you already own can be mix-n-matched or you want to purchase new items with a limited budget for each season, everyone can use help streamlining this process.
My stylist brain thinks this way: What you wear each day is like reading a chapter in your book of life. Wearing the same gym clothes or power suit each and every day of the week says to the world, “World, I don’t have time in my busy life to focus on me right now and it’s just easier to throw this on.” And while that may be so, I’m a firm believer on making a lasting impression on people with the way you dress. And in your book of life, chapters and chapters of gym clothes or boring work attire is probably saying something deeper about how you feel about yourself and the relationship you’ve had about your body and clothes in the past. As a stylist, I want to help you write and publish fantastic new chapters in your book of life.
What do I have to offer? I want to offer you style inspiration. Whether it’s following along with me by subscribing to my blog, I encourage you to do just that. Maybe someone you know could use a little inspiration too? It would mean the world to me to have someone say that they found me through a friend! Maybe you didn’t think you could afford to hire a stylist before, or didn’t think you even needed one, and now you do. Great! My Styling Services and Portfolio show what I have to offer! Or email me and we can tailor a styling service just for you. Above all, I want to give people a fresh place to turn to on a regular basis. I want to be a place for you to come when you’re feeling like you’re stuck in a style rut.
That’s a little of me in a style nutshell. When you visit my blog, I hope that I inspire you to become a fantastically, stylish version of yourself! One of the biggest compliments for me as a stylist is when someone mentions that they were inspired to wear something or go somewhere because of what I posted on my blog.
