We’re always looking to take what’s in our closet and make the most of it, right? Well, today’s post shows you how you can take a dress you may have in your closet, or maybe this dress from Anthropologie, and work it three different ways. I heard a quote from a stylist friend of mine just last weekend and I thought it good information to impart to you: Before you buy something, style it three different ways in your mind. If you can do that, you can buy it!
What great advice, indeed.
I used this dress from Anthro. Because of its non-print black and white colors, you can do a lot of different color pairings with it. Being that it’s fall, I choose to go a bit darker in color than my usual pops of color that I would use. But remember, #style tip: you can also add a pop of color in with your accessories anytime. I also opted for a daytime look three ways, but you can style this dress for night too!
Which look do you like best? What would you do with this dress if you had it in your closet? I would love to hear from you in my comment section of the blog.

LOOK# 1-DAYTIME CASUAL
Look: Daytime, casual, simple, easy
This look is an easy, day time look. The ruffles of the drop- waist dress play off the pleating of the boot. You can also add a heel to this look to dress it up.
Booties: /Jewelry: Mimi & Lu
LOOK# 2-DAYTIME COOL
Shoes: Kate Spade Oxfords
Jacket: Nordstrom (Similar here)
Accessories: Pearl bracelet, similar here
Bomber jackets are great for fall, and this one with sequins, I snatched up at a Nordstrom sale last season, but you can find one here. I paired up a great pearl collar blouse with some pearl accessories and used the dress as a skirt! And, these Kate Spade oxfords? Love ‘em. This makes for a fun, playful, yet feminine look.
Love these Kate Spade Oxfords!
A blouse worn over a dress? Yup, you can do it! Especially when it has a great detailed collar.
LOOK# 3- DRESSY DAYTIME CHIC
Jacket: Elizabeth & James (Similar here)
Boot: Nordstrom Vince Camuto
This outfit is a dressed up, dressed down daytime look. The blazer gives it a tailored look, while the boot gives it a bit of a casual vibe. Because of the sleeveless nature of the dress, and the fact that I Love to layer with a capital L, I chose to add a top under the dress, which gives it a bit of sophistication and color. I added some pops of gold and color in the accessories to jazz the outfit up. Knee high boots? Not just for skinny jeans!
I love a good gold cuff. Vocabulary Boutique
There it is lovlies, one dress, three ways. If you love any of those looks you can always shop my closet!
