If I had to name a single piece of clothing that we women wear the most, it would have to be jeans. Most recently, I stepped out of my usual perfectly hemmed jeans to try the new frayed hem jeans trend. I was actually looking for a new pair of jeans with no particular style in mind. I just wanted a comfortable new pair of denim jeans. At first, I thought I wouldn’t really be into a frayed hem but I have to say that after trying frayed denim on, the fit, color, and style really got me.
Trying Frayed Hem Jeans: A Real Life Take on the Trend
I came across these ankle length frayed hem jeans at Anthropologie for $138. They’re Pilcro high rise jeans and they are just about one of the most comfortable pair of jeans I’ve tried on yet. Next week I’ll be sharing why high rise jeans are my new favorite but for now, let’s chat about these ankle length (high rise!) bad boys.
I am a huge advocate for finding a pair of jeans that make me feel confident and comfortable. That usually involves a pair of jeans that have a darker wash to them and that don’t have a high polyester count (I like them when they have less than 5%) because I don’t like the way that polyester in denim feels! The makeup of these jeans is lyocell (a synthetic fiber), cotton, polyester, and spandex. I love the length, hitting me right at the ankle, which I think is super flattering on women!
If you’re not quite sold on whether or not to purchase frayed hem jeans, here are a few suggestions for how to pair them if you are petite, tall/athletic, or curvy. If I do dare say, you just might fall in love with them like I have. I’ve also included a comprehensive 17-page guide to the denim trends you need to know about for 2017! If you’re a subscriber, it’ll hit your inbox tomorrow along with a fabulous February newsletter. What’s a jean trend you’ve been wanting to try?
