Everyday Outfit Series: Styling White/Off-White Denim

One of the questions I asked on Instagram was what you’d like to see styled a few ways and white, off-white, ecru denim was a big ask. I’ll keep it simple and put together three outfits for everyday, that for me are put-together, elevated, and use pieces I already own in my closet. Here are three ways to style off white (in my case, I don’t have white, so I’m using a pair of off - white Mother Half Pipe Ankle Jean. I linked the jeans and the pieces I styled here.

Styling Off - White / White Denim

If you don’t have off white jeans, grab a pair of white jeans and let’s get styling. We’re going to use outfit formulas to make it easy. The outfit formula usually consists of three or four parts that when they come together, make an outfit feel elevated and put-together.

Outfit #1 - Outfit Formula: jeans + white tee + black belt + black flat + layer black blazer

Off White Jeans + White Tee Shirt + Black Belt + Black Flats (we’ll add some detail with a black blazer and necklaces and layer with a black blazer)

Outfit #2 - Outfit Formula: Jeans + fitted tank + loafers + trench: this is my go to spring layering style outfit when it’s mild, slightly cool but then the sun starts shining and you’re warm.

Off White Jeans + Fitted Tank + Similar Color Loafer + A trench coat for the layer

Outfit #3

Off White Jeans + oversized button up + a comfortable pair of stylish sneakers (I’m using Sambas) + a cardigan or sweater to layer over your shoulders (you can add in a denim jacket and throw the sweater over or if it’s warm where you are, no layer and sub the sneakers for sandals)

Outfit formula: Jeans + button up + sweater or jacket + tennies (the point here is to create an outfit that allows you to have fun, experiment, and play with proportion (or not care about proportion) but just have fun and see what feels good!

Outfit #4

Off White Jeans + a denim vest + sandals (if the weather is warmer where you are) (you can do a sweater over shoulders)

Outfit formula: Jeans + Vest + Sandals + Bag - For all you ladies who live in warmer climates, might I suggest wearing vests. It’s a great “base” piece that has texture and breathability.

When you get a new piece of clothing (say, a new pair of jeans or maybe you have white/off white jeans already) the best thing to do is this. If you find that you’re having trouble playing with your clothes, putting outfits together, that’s what I do in my own closet and with clients, in Shop Your Closet outfit planning sessions. If you want to make getting dressed simplified, meaning having three immediate outfits to turn to with one piece you already own, an outfit planning session will benefit YOU.
